Kayla Blado Joins the National Labor Relations Board

Earlier this year, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) chairman Lauren McFerran announced the appointment of Kayla Blado ’11 as press secretary or the National Labor Relations Board, serving in the Office of Congressional and Public Affairs. Ms. Blado has extensive experience working in communications and labor. Most recently, she served as director of media relations at the Economic Policy Institute and president of the Nonprofit Professional Employees Union. Previously, Ms. Blado worked in communications at a national labor federation, as a producer for Wisconsin Public Radio, and as an AmeriCorps volunteer. Ms. Blado has a graduate certificate in business communication from the Harvard Extension School. She earned her undergraduate degree in sociology and Latin American studies from the University of Wisconsin. The NLRB is an independent federal agency that protects employees, employers, and unions from unfair labor practices and protects the right of private-sector employees to join together to improve their workplace.
