In Memory of William Walter Beyer MA’61

William Walter Beyer passed away in Midlothian, VA, on January 20. 2026. William studied history as a Woodrow Wilson Fellow and his studies were focused on economic history, finance, and international economics. William served as a commissioned Foreign Service Officer in Washington, DC; Auckland and Wellington, New Zealand; and Munich, Germany. He returned to the U.S. and was an international credit analyst at E.I. Dupont De Nemours before embarking on an international banking career at First Pennsylvania Bank (with posts in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Frankfurt, Germany), Crestar, and United Virginia Bank. William and his wife, Lilli, were noted patrons of many art exhibits at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, VA.
