Christopher Hardwick Retires After 45-Year Career in Public Affairs

Christopher Hardwick ’79 is retiring after a 45-year career in public affairs and communications. Hardwick, a graduate of the UW School of Journalism, began his career in New York at the global public relations firm Burson-Marsteller (now Burson) and then went on to hold senior positions at the University of Pennsylvania, Aramark Corp., Carnegie Communications, and the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where he has served as associate dean for Public Affairs & Communications for the past 14 years. At the UW, he wrote for the Daily Cardinal and Badger Herald, and was a trombonist in the UW Marching Band.
