Library Renamed for Linda Johnston
- Jul. 29, 2021
On September 1, 2021, the Blairsville Campus Library of North Georgia Technical college will be renamed and dedicated to Linda Johnston ’75, the first librarian of that campus. Linda’s husband of 44 years, Charles, nominated Linda to ensure that her hard work and dedication to lifelong learning and the students she served were recognized and would be remembered. Linda and Charlie are active in the community and provide drug and alcohol counseling to prisoners through the Collwell Detention Probation Center and serve on the board of the Mountain Coin Club. In addition to the bronze plaque, the college will also display numerous awards from the U.S. Army and pictures of the Gerber and Johnston families.
