In Retirement, Tim K. Pagel ’79 Pursues Twin Passions of Sports and the Arts

After retiring from clean energy leader NextEra Energy, where he led corporate executive and sustainability communications for many years, Tim K. Pagel ’79 is devoting much of his time to two of his loves: sports and the arts. Near his home in Jupiter, Fla., he’s worked two spring stints in field operations at FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches, the spring training home of the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals. As for the arts, the Manitowoc native works in security for global entertainment giant LiveNation at its Coral Sky Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach and is a volunteer usher and bartender at the award-winning Maltz Jupiter Theatre, known years ago as the Burt Reynolds Dinner Theater. Tim is also active with the Palm Beach Badgers Alumni Club, serving in a leadership role on its scholarship committee that has helped numerous talented South Florida high school seniors achieve their dreams of attending UW-Madison.
