UW-Alumni Owned Company is on Shark Tank: David Scharfman

David Scharfman (Class 2008) appeared with his Just The Cheese brand products on 4/10 at 7pm CST. Specialty Cheese Company is a family-owned cheese manufacturer, based in Reeseville, WI (pop ~700). Mom and Dad run the fresh cheese operation, and David and his Wife run Just The Cheese® business. Just The Cheese was originally invented from the idea that the best part of a grilled cheese sandwich is what melts off in the pan. Since we are a bunch of cheesemakers, we wanted to make that into a product, and here we are!
The product was launched in 2018 on Amazon, where we (much to our delight and surprise) exploded in popularity in the first month! We now sell between 300 and 600 boxes a day online, and now our products are currently sold in over 3000 retail locations nationwide. Target, Sprouts, 7-11, Albertsons, among others all carry our cheese!
