Did you say "yes" on campus at UW–Madison? We asked Badgers on social media about their campus engagement stories, and here is what some had to share!
We were engaged in a little room (my husband to be rented) on Van Hise - in 1974. He proposed during a commercial of “The Big Valley”! Despite that romantic gesture, we will celebrate our 50th this September!

At the Kohl Center during the first “TV Timeout” at the four-minute mark of the second half of the Wisconsin vs. Marquette basketball game on December 20, 2003. The cheerleading squad came out with their signs that said LET’S - GO - RED… only they didn’t say that. They said, AMBER - MARRY - MIKE, and 16,000 shouting, yet romantic Badger fans popped the question for me. The band turned around to where I had secured box seats and started chanting, “Say YES!” repeatedly. I dropped to a knee with both Bucky Badger AND Santa Claus in our box at my side. The rest, as they say, is what Badger dreams are made of.

We met working at the old Union South - so 12/22/97 we went back for a basketball game and as we left Union South walking to the field house, he bent down on one knee as the snow started to fall and asked me to marry him. We will celebrate 27 years this year.

The old Union South after the family fun day with the football team. We went to the Union for Babcock ice cream, and he proposed where the band played. This was 21 years ago.

Third floor, Helen C. White Library, July 25, 1985! We were studying and it was quiet so the proposal was conducted via pen and paper on the back of my boyfriend’s Corporate Finance notes. We packed up our books and notes and went to the Terrace.
