Homecoming Highlights – 2026

UW Homecoming brought Badgers together for a celebration packed with cherished traditions, campus pride, and unforgettable moments from Bascom Hill to Camp Randall.

The flamingos have flown, the parade has passed, and another unforgettable UW Homecoming is in the books. Throughout the week, Badgers came together across campus to celebrate the traditions, connections, and school spirit that make coming home to Wisconsin so special. From the pink-filled fun of Fill the Hill to the energy of the Homecoming Parade, pep rallies, tailgates, reunions, and a commanding 31-3 victory over Michigan State, the Wisconsin spirit was impossible to miss. Whether reconnecting with old friends, making new memories, or cheering on the Badgers, students, alumni, and friends of the university helped make this year's celebration one to remember.

Homecoming kicked off in true Wisconsin fashion with a flock of flamingos on Bascom Hill! Inspired by the Pail and Shovel Party's legendary 1979 prank, Fill the Hill once again transformed campus into a sea of pink. Each flamingo represented a gift to support UW–Madison, and this year's incredible response helped make Fill the Hill another unforgettable success for the Badger community.

As the flamingos made way for a sea of Badger red, Homecoming celebrations rolled into Friday night with one of campus's most cherished traditions. Sponsored by the Wisconsin Union and UW–Madison's Homecoming Committee, the Homecoming parade brought State Street to life with spirited floats, the unmistakable sound of the UW Marching Band, and thousands of students, alumni, and fans celebrating their Badger pride together.

The Homecoming celebration continued at One Alumni Place and Alumni Park, where Badgers of all ages kept the fun going long after the parade. Alumni DJs fueled a crowd-favorite silent disco, while families and friends explored hands-on activities, posed at photo booths, played yard games, enjoyed views through Washburn Observatory telescopes, and warmed up with hot chocolate and sweet treats. From dancing to stargazing, the Block Party offered something for everyone.

Badger spirit filled the Memorial Union Terrace as the Homecoming pep rally brought students, alumni, and fans together for an unforgettable night on the lakefront. DJay Mando ’16 set the tone before the UW Marching Band, spirit squad, and Bucky Badger energized the crowd. The celebration culminated in a spectacular fireworks show over Lake Mendota, capping off the evening with a dazzling display of Wisconsin pride.

The energy carried right into Shannon Hall for the Multicultural Homecoming Yard Show, where culture, community, and Badger spirit took center stage. Hosted in partnership with the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, the event featured electrifying step, stroll, and salute performances from members of the National Pan-Hellenic Council and Multicultural Greek Council.

For Badgers looking to keep the Homecoming celebration going, the Badger Meet-Up: Hoco Edition delivered. The Rigby was packed with energy as DJ Julian Gross kept the dance floor moving, while others connected with fellow alumni, expanded their networks, or participated in the annual Badger Spelling Bee. No studying required, just plenty of Badger spirit.

As game day excitement built across campus, the Multicultural Homecoming Tailgate and Watch Party gave Badgers a place to gather, reconnect, and celebrate before during the football game. Friends old and new enjoyed food, music, games, and photo opportunities while sharing in the excitement of Homecoming.
