Frosty Fun Highlights 2026

A Winter Wonderland Celebration

One Alumni Place and nearby Alumni Park were transformed into a winter wonderland as hundreds of Badgers of all ages gathered for the Wisconsin Alumni Association’s Frosty Fun event. As part of the Wisconsin Union’s Winter Carnival, this free lakefront celebration proved that Madison knows how to embrace the cold in style.

Music, Dance, and Badger Spirit

The outdoor festivities kicked off with DJ Mike Carlson ’88, spinning a lively mix that had attendees dancing despite the winter temperatures. The UW–Madison Alumni Band added to the atmosphere with spirited renditions of “On, Wisconsin!” and other beloved Badger anthems, reminding everyone why Madison’s musical tradition runs so deep.

Of course, no Wisconsin event would be complete without an appearance from Bucky Badger himself. The beloved mascot spent the afternoon mingling with young fans, dancing along the lakeshore of frozen Lake Mendota, and posing for countless photos. The giant inflatable Bucky overlooking Alumni Park served as both a landmark and gateway to the festivities.
