John McDermott on the Long Road to Photography

I graduated in June 1969 with a BA in geography. Eventually I became a photographer doing editorial, corporate, and advertising work, after spending time playing soccer, serving as an officer in the Navy in Vietnam, and working as a print journalist. This is an interview with me about my career published recently on the About Photography international website: https://aboutphotography.blog/blog/interview-john-mcdermott. Early in my career I worked as a photographer for Newsweek together with friend and fellow UW alum Peter Greenberg ’72!
