David Marcou ’73, direct descendent of Louis Joliet, marks 350th anniversary of Joliet-Marquette voyage with new publication

In June 2023, David Joseph Marcou ’73 (history) published his booklet “Heart & Soul” re: 350th anniversary of his direct ancestor Louis Joliet and Fr. Marquette’s famous voyage through Wisconsin down the Mississippi River to the mouth of Arkansas River, etc., proving along the way the passage of the Mississippi River from far north near its source to the Gulf of Mexico on the south in June-July 1673. Including this booklet, David has published 310 books (and counting), with more books by him being published monthly. At present, David Joseph Marcou has a decent claim to being the US’s most prolific living book author. He is 72 years old & hopes to continue publishing his books for many years to come. Also, in 2022, he donated & transferred copyright to/of his play about the anti-war bombing of UW’s Sterling Hall in 1970 to the UW–Madison Archives. —David Joseph Marcou
