The UW Now in Los Angeles

You Have Questions. We Have Experts.

The UW is coming to you! Gather with fellow UW alumni, parents, and friends in Los Angeles to discover how UW–Madison is addressing some of the world’s most complex challenges. First, join us from 2–3 p.m for an exclusive pre-reception for parents like you, with special guest Lori Reesor, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, followed by remarks from Sarah Schutt — chief alumni officer and executive director of the Wisconsin Alumni Association. She will share updates from campus, including the Wisconsin RISE Initiative. Then, enjoy lightning talks and a Q & A session featuring Professor Kathleen Bartzen Culver ’88, MA’92, PhD’99 and Assistant Professor Devin Kennedy, who will share research on the history of computing and AI, how emerging technologies reshape the way we consume information, and how the humanities and social sciences play an integral role in understanding and shaping the impact of AI in the real world.

Please register by April 7. A limited number of walk-ins will be accepted as capacity allows.
