Alanna Goldman Founds Community for Women’s College Sports Fans

Alanna Goldman ’20 founded a sports media company, 5wins, based on her own experience growing up a Badger sports fan. As her interest in women’s college sports grew, she realized that understanding athletes as people and the passion of the women’s sports community was what made her more invested and excited. Not finding all of the storytelling and community engagement opportunities she wanted, Alanna took her experience from the School of Journalism and Mass Communications to build a space that delivers athlete-centered content and engages communities of fans. During the fall 2025 semester, Alanna led a for-credit internship program for Wisconsin SJMC students, spoke in the J601 career class, and hosted a Wisconsin volleyball watch party at Union South with RecWell and WSUM radio.
