Dear Bay Area Badgers,
As we reflect on the past year, 2023 was one filled with engagement across the Bay Area. We kicked off the year with a Wine Tasting and Tour at the Keller Estate Winery, where we explored wine caves and enjoyed a private tasting, surrounded by the camaraderie of fellow Badgers. Our celebration of Day of the Badger on March 28–29 was a testament to our Badger pride and spirit raising over $6000 towards our Chapter Scholarship.
It was heartwarming to see our community come together at local events including the exclusive Dinner with 10 Badgers and the annual Crazylegs run in Golden Gate Park. We also had the honor of hosting An Evening with Chancellor Mnookin, where we had the opportunity to engage with Chancellor Mnookin and learn more about the exciting initiatives happening at UW-Madison.
Summer brought us the excitement of baseball season! We welcomed the Brew Crew to the Bay Area at our group outing to watch the Milwaukee Brewers take on the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park. This event is always a highlight, filled with cheers and Badger spirit.
Kicking off football season, the annual Bratfest and Welcome to the City were both a resounding success, thanks to the dedication of our volunteers and the enthusiasm of our attendees. It was a joy to meet new members of our community and welcome them to the Bay.
In addition to our events, we're thrilled to announce that Bay Area Badgers gave $15,000 in scholarships this year. Furthermore, we secured a match for the upcoming year's giving campaigns, which will allow us to follow scholarship recipients throughout their undergraduate careers. This is a significant achievement that highlights our commitment to supporting the next generation of Badgers.
As we look ahead, our mission remains steadfast: to build an inclusive community of UW alumni and supporters united by Badger pride and the desire to advance UW-Madison’s positive impact on the world. Whether you join us for events, volunteer your time, or share your ideas, your involvement is what makes our community strong.
