BAB Recap of 2022

Dear Bay Area Badgers,

As we reflect on the past year, 2022 has been an exciting and eventful time for our chapter. We kicked off the year with our Fill the Hill campaign, where donations over $100 received a special Bay Area Badger t-shirt. Thank you to all who supported this initiative.

We were thrilled to bring back Bridging the Bay, a program founded by Jennifer Brandl ('07), aimed at bringing Bay Area Badgers together to celebrate successes and foster career-focused networking. We are currently looking for hosts to lead these gatherings, so if you're interested, please share your story with us.

Throughout the year, we enjoyed game watches, including the Wisconsin football season, where we gathered at various locations to cheer on our team. Our South Bay game watch location even hosted an autographed 2002-2003 Women’s Hockey team stick auction.

Our social events were a hit, including annual events Welcome to the City, the Wisconsin Picnic, Crazylegs, UW Now, Bratfest, and the Student Send Off. We also enjoyed a Gluten-Free Brewery Tour in the Easy Bay. We had a great turnout for our North Bay Volunteering event, where we helped restore the historical landscaping of the Fort Baker Parade Grounds. Thank you to everyone who participated and supported these events.

In the spring, we had a successful Day of the Badger, raising over $6000 for the Bay Area Badger scholarship fund that went on to support two scholars, Leonardo Galindo and Varun Munagala.

Thank you to all our members for your continued support and engagement. We look forward to another fantastic year ahead.

On, Wisconsin!
