Chapter Scholarships

Since 1967, WAA’s alumni chapters around the world have awarded more than $10 million to UW-Madison students. Scholarships are generally awarded in the spring, but each chapter operates its own scholarship program, so find the chapter nearest your hometown to find out more about its particular program.

Recent Changes to the Program

The Chapter Scholarship Program is undergoing major changes. Chapters are encouraged to continue to offer their own scholarship programs, but the match is being be phased out over a period of three years. For a brief summary of these changes, read these answers to frequently asked questions.

Brittingham Viking Organization (BVO) Scholarships

The Viking Scholarships are a chain of scholarship programs between the University of Wisconsin and the Nordic countries of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. Visit their website to find out more about the organization and the scholarships offered.
