Programming Grant 101

WAA will make funds available to chapters to expand local programming and outreach.

Criteria for Selection

To be considered, the event or program must support the following success measures:

  • Promote the Mission and Spirit of UW. Chapters should reflect the look, feel and spirit of the UW-Madison brand by providing fun, friendly, accessible and diverse experiences by creating a welcoming and inclusive environment and by serve as a source of information about the UW, WAA and UW Foundation.
  • Engage a Broad Range of Alumni. In order to engage a broad range of alumni, chapter leaders must understand and serve program and event needs by offering a variety of activities designed for a diverse population (age, gender, ethnicity) of alumni and establish, promote and maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment within their local chapter.
  • To be eligible for programming grants, chapters must have fulfilled Bascom-level expectations.
  • Program grants should support new, innovative programming and not an existing program (e.g., Founders’ Day, Student Send-off, annual events).

Grant Amounts

Chapter program grants are available up to $500.

Funding Timeline

Grant requests for Spring/Summer are due by January 15 of the same year. Grant requests for Fall are due by May 1.
