Peace Corps Update Information

  • In 2020 for the fourth consecutive year, UW–Madison was ranked number one among large colleges and universities for producing the most Peace Corps volunteers. On March 15, 2020, Peace Corps temporarily suspended Volunteer operations and evacuated over 7,300 volunteers due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Current projections are that Volunteers will return to the field in early 2022 – as much as two years after the evacuation. In 2020 there were 79 Badgers stationed in 40 countries — or 279 total volunteers from Wisconsin. More than 3,300 UW alumni have served since 1961.

The UW–Madison campus recruiting office is looking to reconnect with alumni who served.
