We kicked off the spring with a terrific Founders Day and enjoyed some cool refreshments at our Summer Suds monthly events. This fall, we will continue our social gatherings and have several annual events and game watching nights/days in the works. Check out what's in store...

DATE: November 28, 2008
TIME: 7:00pm
WHERE: San Antonio Riverwalk
WHAT: Friday, November 28, 2008
At 7:00 p.m. on the Friday following Thanksgiving, the switch is thrown and approximately 122,000 twinkling lights form a magical canopy over San Antonio's River Walk. The lights shine brightly every evening through January 1. The lighting ceremony is the official kickoff to the Paseo Del Rio Holiday Festivities. It's a Texas-size celebration that's Pure San Antonio! For over 20 years, the spectacular one-hour parade along San Antonio's River Walk features decorated, illuminated floats with celebrities, bands and lavishly-costumed participants. The theme for the parade is a Theatrical Christmas. Over 150,000 people will gather along the River Walk to watch the spectacle live along the parade route. Millions more will join in the fun watching the television broadcast. Reserved seating is available along the parade route.
WHY: To help support the San Antonio community.

The chapter's mission is to:
- cooperate with WAA in promoting the best interests of the university.
- encourage qualified young people to attend UW-Madison.
- support local students attending the UW.
- provide UW-Madison alumni, parents, and students in the area with a local connection to the university.
- foster fellowship and cooperation among alumni and friends of the UW.
- serve as a tool for networking in the local job market.
- provide leadership in the support of higher education.
- socialize in the famous Badger tradition!
- assist and support UW student and alumni organizations.
- maintain awareness of legislative developments affecting the university.
