BADGER HUDDLE® Homecoming Tailgate

Before the game, join alumni and friends for a Wisconsin-style tailgate buffet at the Wisconsin Field House. The BADGER HUDDLE® is the official UW pre-game party, which means it’s the only event in town that features appearances by Bucky Badger, the UW Spirit Squad and the UW Marching Band. The Field House is located at 1450 Monroe St., which is right next to Camp Randall Stadium. The event starts at 8:30 a.m. and runs until 10:30 a.m. Beer and soft drinks are included.

Each tailgate ticket purchased costs $40 per adult or $20 per child age 2 to 12, and each additional ticket purchased at the door costs $45 per adult or $25 per child age 2 to 12.

Note: Please bring a photo ID to be admitted to the BADGER HUDDLE®.

Tickets are no longer available online but will be available at the door for an additional $5.

Call (888) 947-2586 with any questions about Day-of-Game Packages or the BADGER HUDDLE®.

Game-Day Parking

Game-day parking is extremely limited, and so we recommend the following methods of transportation for getting to Camp Randall Stadium:

  • Madison Metro Transit, Route 80
This bus route runs throughout campus free of charge. After a quick jaunt through Eagle Heights, Route 80 will take you down Randall Avenue, stopping between Union South and Camp Randall Stadium.
  • Bucky Bus operated by Kobussen Buses
Starting two hours before kickoff, buses will transport fans to Camp Randall Stadium from Lot 60 and Lot 64. Round-trip fare is $6, and one-way fare is $3. Return trips will run for one hour after the game ends.
  • B-cycle
B-cycle bicycle-rental stations are located throughout campus.

Traditions

Traditions

More than a century of Homecoming history

Since 1911, Badgers have been coming back to campus to celebrate their alma mater.

Coming Home to Alma Mater Since 1911
On a crisp November weekend in 1911, 3,000 University of Wisconsin alumni met up for what was known as ‘smokes and cider’ at the gymnasium before heading to Camp Randall to root for the home team, not knowing they were establishing a Badger tradition now in its 103rd year.

Bygone Traditions: Homecoming Hobo Parade
In the 1920s, some UW students celebrated Homecoming by dressing up as rail-riding migrant workers.

Honoring Homecoming’s “Living Traditions”
Traditions are bound to come and go anytime a celebration spans the decades – and University of Wisconsin-Madison Homecoming is no exception.

Confessions of a Button Man
Pete Christianson ’71, JD’77 is on the hunt for every Homecoming button stamped since 1911 — and discovering the history of Camp Randall, and his own Badger roots, along the way.

Making Homecoming a Welcoming Tradition For All
A campus coalition it looking to make Homecoming feel more like home for all alumni and students through the second annual Multicultural Homecoming this fall.

Meet the Terps
On October 25, the Badgers will face off against the University of Maryland Terrapins during Wisconsin’s Homecoming football game. The 2014 season marks Maryland’s first as a member of the Big Ten conference, and whether this makes them friends or foes, it’s time to learn a little more about the Terps.
