Passing of Alfred (Al) Eddison Kohout MFA’67

Al Kohout MFA’67, a theater artist and designer passed away on December 31, 2022, in NYC. At the UW, he was a student of the esteemed John Ezell, with whom he collaborated at the Great Lakes Theater in the 1990s. During Al’s 60-year career, he created some of the most iconic costumes for Broadway, Disney, and film. His talents were sought after by many producers and other designers. Linked below is Al’s memorialized Facebook page, which contains an insert Disney created after Al’s passing and included in the Lion King programs. He is very much missed by the NYC Theater Community and by his friends.
