Volunteer Opportunity: Community Servings - WAA: Boston Chapter

Location: Community Servings, 18 Marbury Terrace , Boston, MA 02130Our UW alumni group meets at Community Servings to volunteer the third Thursday of every month, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Typically we help with portioning out food for inclusion in meals as well as cutting, chopping and scraping veggies of all kinds. It's a great opportunity to help provide meals for folks in need and socialize with Boston Badgahs.

Main Street, Madison, WI 53703Bowers’s research focuses on frail, older adults and people with lifelong disabilities, in both community and residential settings. She is interested in how public policies, organizational practices, and models of care delivery influence the quality of care and the quality of work life for caregivers. Bowers has served on many national expert panels that review oversight and monitor care, educational requirements for health-service workers, the development of nursing leadership in long-term care, and the use of advanced-practice nurses in the care of older adults.

Epidemiology concepts such as infectivity and herd immunity will be discussed in the context of population-level vaccine coverage and the rise of vaccine refusals over time. We’ll look at the extent to which vaccine refusals are clustered in spatial locations such as schools…
