Travel Disclaimer

The Wisconsin Alumni Association (“WAA”) is not a travel agency or tour operator. WAA is not an agent for any travel agency, tour operator, and/or any WAA-affiliated participant (“Participant”).

WAA is not responsible for changes, losses, or additional expenses of Participants associated with flight or cruise times or fares; dishonor of airline, hotel, cruise, or car-rental reservations; weather; injury or sickness; pandemic or quarantine; damage; delays; inconveniences; accidents; acts or defaults of any person or entity engaged in conveying Participants or in carrying out other arrangements of the tour; tour operator or travel agency cessation of operations; strikes; bankruptcies; civil unrest; acts of terrorism; actions of government agencies and officials; acts of God; or any other event beyond its control. Further, WAA shall not be responsible for any alteration in any itinerary deemed necessary for carrying out the tour for any reason, including, but not limited to, passenger safety, port congestion, or the substitution of hotels of similar quality.

The right is reserved to the tour operator and/or specific travel provider to postpone or cancel any tour or portion of the tour; in which case the tour operator’s cancellation and refund policies will apply. The tour operator and/or travel provider also reserves the right to change the retail price of any tour. The tour operator’s and/or travel provider’s terms and conditions will apply to Participant cancellations or requests for refunds. No refunds or discounts will be paid by WAA for any reason.

The right is also reserved to decline to accept or to retain any Participant as a member of the tour should such person’s health, actions, or behavior impede the operation of the tour or the rights or welfare of the other Participants. In such case, no refund will be made for the unused portion of any tour.

Any tour operator and/or travel provider hosted tours, without exclusive WAA group activities, may be substantially different.

By embarking upon travel, Participants voluntarily assume all risks involved in such travel, whether expected or unexpected. For information concerning possible dangers at international destinations, contact the U.S. State Department, 202-647-5225, or access the State Department’s online travel advisory service. For medical information, call the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) at 800-232-4636 or visit the CDC’s website.

Participants are hereby warned of the above risks as well as possible travel industry force majeure, bankruptcies, medical and climatic disruptions, and the possibility Participants may be unable to travel as scheduled because of personal emergency. Participants are advised to consider obtaining appropriate insurance coverage against these risks. Information regarding travel insurance is available from WAA at the time of the reservation booking.

WAA reserves the right to copyright, use, and publish photographs and videos of Participants on WAA tours for advertising, publicity, promotional, and other purposes.

Applicants for participation on a tour accept in full all of the conditions set forth above.
