We heartily recommend staying on campus during your GPU session. Overnight housing is available at Ogg Hall, a UW residence hall located on the southeast corner of Park and Dayton streets. Rooms in Ogg Hall are designed to accommodate two people, and a rollaway bed for a third person is available by request. Children must share a room with an adult.
Each room in Ogg Hall contains:
- Two single beds with blankets, linens and pillows
- Towels, washcloths and soap
- Air conditioning
- Small refrigerator
- Free wireless Internet
- Small television with cable
- Digital television connections for laptops
- Clock radio
- Bottled water and drinking glasses
Additionally, Ogg Hall provides 24-hour coffee and tea service in its first-floor kitchen.
If you choose to arrive in Madison on Wednesday, you can check in at Ogg Hall after 3 p.m. You will still need to attend the GPU program check-in on Thursday morning. An optional campus walking tour will depart from Ogg Hall at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
During registration, you will be able to select a one- or two-night stay in Ogg Hall. You may also choose to not reserve housing.
A block of rooms is reserved at the DoubleTree by Hilton Madison for those who prefer to stay off campus. The Doubletree is located three blocks east of Ogg Hall on Dayton Street and has provided GPU attendees with rooms at a discounted rate. You are responsible for arranging your own off-campus housing.

An additional block of hotel rooms is set aside at the Fluno Center. To make a reservation, please call 877-773-5866 or 608-441-7117 and use the group code Grandparents University. You can also send an email to email@example.com or fill out an online reservation at fluno.com.
All meals are included in the GPU program fee.
You may purchase additional dinner tickets via registration for family members who are not registered for GPU and will join you for dinner. For 2019, tickets costs $12 for adults and children.
View the menu available for all meal plans. You will be eating at the Avenue Market, which is located inside the Gordon Dining and Events Center. Your meal plan includes one breakfast and two lunches. Snacks during break time during the major are included. Additional dinners or snacks are not included.
In years past, there has been a Badger Picnic. This year, dinner will take place in Dining and Events Center. Similar to lunch, guests will go through the various food stations with Gordon Avenue Market. After dinner if participants choose to join the GPU Block Party and Chill with Bucky, there will be transportation provided.
Parking passes are available for purchase via registration only. Parking passes will not be available for purchase during the program. You may contact the GPU team after you register if you need to add a parking pass.
A UW parking permit that is valid for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday costs $40. A permit that is valid for Thursday and Friday costs $28.
Parking passes will be mailed in June 2019.
