One of UW–Madison’s proudest Homecoming traditions will march its way down State Street Friday night, thrilling fans and blocking traffic in the area east of campus.
The Homecoming Parade runs (or at least walks) from 5 to 7 p.m. on November 11, but road closures will begin as early as 2 p.m. The parade route will close Gilman Street, Langdon Street, and Lake Street (between State Street and Lake Mendota), as well as block State Street from Broom Street to campus.
Homecoming has included a parade since 1912. The event features the UW Marching Band, Spirit Squad, Bucky Badger, campus dignitaries in convertibles, and floats created by student organizations.
