Not long after a tornado tore through the heart of Illinois, local alumni sprang into action, raising money for those affected.

On Sunday, November 17, 2013, a tornado ripped through Illinois, leaving behind a trail of damage that included the home of UW-Madison alumna Brittany Miller ‘00.

Not long after, the WAA: Heart of Illinois Chapter sprang into action, raising $1,070 at their football game watch part the following Saturday.

They’ve also wrangled volunteers to clean up debris, paint a new warehouse full of donations and move a displaced family into a newly-furbished residence.
