University of Wisconsin alumnus Garrett Dash Nelson is Curator of Maps for the Norman B. Leventhal Map and Education Center at the Boston Public Library, and he led the team that developed the startlingly relevant new online exhibition, “BENDING LINES: Maps and Data from Distortion to Deception.”
Constance Frances (Connie) Aranosian, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully in Glastonbury CT on June 9th, 2020 at the age of 90.
Anthony was named chief of the civil and environmental engineering section of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Rock Island, Illinois. In this role, he serves as technical manager for the levee rehabilitation for a 5 state region.

Brenda Mizenko was selected for the 2020-2021 South Dakota Math and Science Leadership Cohort. This a selective and competitive leadership program sponsored by the South Dakota Department of Education. She will work with other teachers statewide to establish more STEM opportunities throughout South Dakota, look at different research based practices, explore challenges and opportunities in K-12 STEM education, and work on other projects as well.
In 1967-1969, we were in Madison for my husband’s enzymology fellowship at the McArdle Lab. I took one son to the campus for weekly speech therapy. It was tense walking over Bascom Hill past anti-war students purportedly carrying bricks in their book bags. Don’t recall any damage from throwing bricks.
Ryle Sonduck, BA 1949, died on May 16, 2020 in Encinitas, CA. She was born in Wausau, WI and graduated Wausau High School in 1941. She earned her BA from the University of Wisconsin in 1949 and her MS in Education from USC in 1968.

After 20 years in the bay area, and 13 at the helm of Headlands Center for the Arts, Maidenberg is relocating to Austin, TX where she will assume the post of executive director and CEO of The Contemporary Austin.
