After 20 years in the bay area, and 13 at the helm of Headlands Center for the Arts, Maidenberg is relocating to Austin, TX where she will assume the post of executive director and CEO of The Contemporary Austin.
John Knoebel 1969, a pioneer member of the New York Gay Liberation Front (1969-72), served as a leading presenter of LGBTQ history in this year’s 24-hour worldwide GlobalPride webcast June 27, 2020—a 50th anniversary virtual celebration of the first Gay Pride March in which he participated.
Crystal Stonewall was selected to the Wisconsin Law Review in July 2020. She completed her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While on campus she participated in the LSAC Pre-Law Undergraduate Scholars Program, she was a Posse Scholar, and served on the University of Wisconsin Student Advisory Board of Dean Students. During the summer 2020 she has an internship with University of Wisconsin System as a Law Clerk.
The Minerals Metals & Materials Society (TMS) conferred Oscar Marcelo Suarez (Metallurgical Engineering PhD 2000) the 2020 Ellen Swallow Richards Diversity Award for his work in engaging Hispanic students into Materials Science & Engineering. The award was conferred during the 2020 Annual Meeting of TMS held in February 2020 in San Diego, CA.
