Welcome to the City

We’re glad to have a new Badger in town!

Every year at the end of summer, in cities across America, Wisconsin Alumni Association® (WAA) chapters host Welcome to the City events to introduce Badgers to their communities. This is your chance to meet other UW–Madison alumni in your area, connect with the local Badger scene, and learn what your chapter is all about. (Hint: it’s all about how awesome it is to be a Badger.)

We’d love to help you get settled into your new Badger den. Welcome to the City events are free. Everyone’s invited!

Connect with your WAA chapter

WAA chapters offer something for everyone — networking and volunteer opportunities, game-watch gatherings, special celebrations, and more. If you have any questions or would like to introduce yourself, please contact your local chapter or WAA.

Get down to business

The nationwide Badger network is incredibly influential. WAA chapters host many events — happy hours, networking opportunities, you name it — that help alumni to connect with other professionals from a wide range of fields.

Root for the red and white

If there’s a Wisconsin jersey involved — football, basketball, or hockey — Badgers all over the world are watching. A local chapter game-watch party is the next best thing to seeing a game in Madison.

Make a difference

WAA chapters offer opportunities for alumni to gain leadership experience while making a difference in their home communities. Whatever your availability or area of expertise, you can bet there’s a chapter volunteer position with your name on it.
