A truly REmarkable Homecoming

The sun was shining. Steve Miller was singing. Homecoming 2017 will go down as one of the most memorable in this illustrious event’s history. Throughout the week, Badger students and alumni alike converged on campus to celebrate the best of the UW. It culminated with a convincing win over Big Ten foe Maryland and a Fifth Quarter conducted by Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Steve Miller x’67. But the night before — Homecoming eve — may have stolen the show. Along with the always-spirited Homecoming Parade, this year introduced Badger Nation to a new tradition: the UW Homecoming Block Party. This party had U-Rah-Rah out the wazoo-rah-rah, with music, fireworks, family-friendly activities, a classic fish fry, and more. Put it all together, and it was enough to make every Badger proud.

Homecoming 1969

In recalling Homecoming 1969, I was able to remember in great detail the purple suede mini jumper I wore and the lavender blousy shirt that went with it but could not remember who was the featured entertainment for that weekend. Any ideas?
