About the event
Discover how the Wisconsin Idea is alive and well in an unexpected area: beer. In a panel discussion, two industry experts will examine how the rise of small, locally owned craft breweries has positively affected the state’s economy. Enjoy a pint* with fellow Badgers while you learn about the hidden power of beer.
*As this is a free event the cost of beer is not covered. Beer flights will also be available for purchase.
Will Glass, owner of the Brewing Projekt, and Robin Shepard PhD’93, associate professor at UW–Madison
About the speakers
Beyond his primary academic and administrative responsibilities, Robin Shepard is perhaps just as well known for his historic brewery walks and presentations. Among many accomplishments, his book Wisconsin’s Best Breweries and Brewpubs: Searching for the Perfect Pint was given a top prize in 2001 by the North American Guild of Beer Writers.
Will Glass is the owner of the Brewing Projekt, which first opened its taproom in April 2015. According to its website, the brewery makes “stubbornly crafted beer” that not everyone will like but many will love.
