SME Announces 2020 College of Fellows: Khershed Cooper, PhD, FSME

UW alumni, Khershed Cooper, was one of the seven SME members elected to the 2020 SME College of Fellows. Dr. Cooper is a program director for advanced manufacturing in the Civil, Mechanical and Manufacturing Innovation Division of the Engineering Directorate at the National Science Foundation.

Retirement: Rod Bertolet

Rod Bertolet PhD ’77 has retired as professor emeritus from the Purdue University Department of Philosophy, which he joined just after receiving his UW degree.

Ladendorfs pen “Wildlife Apocalypse” cover story

Bob Ladendorf (MA ’77) and his son Brett Ladendorf (BA ’98) co-wrote the cover story in the July/August 2018 issue of Skeptical Inquirer magazine on the “Wildlife Apocalypse: How Myths and Superstitions Drive Animal Extinction.”

Dr. William Lee named Tresp Outstanding Honors Professor at the University of Georgia

William E. Lee, PhD 1977, has been named the Lothar Tresp Outstanding Honors Professor at the University of Georgia in recognition of his superior teaching and commitment to Honors students. Lee, who has been on the UGA faculty since 1977, regularly teaches an Honors seminar on freedom of expression.
