Michael Galaty Named Director of the University of Michigan Museum of Anthropological Archaeology

Dr. Michael L. Galaty, a 1998 PhD in anthropology, was recently named director of the University of Michigan Museum of Anthropological Archaeology. Founded in 1922, the UMMAA curates 3 million artifacts and supports one of the oldest programs of anthropological-archaeological research in the country. Galaty is also Curator of European and Mediterranean Archaeology and Professor of Anthropology and Classical Studies.
