Helping Parkinson’s Patients Through Boxing: Larry (Ray) Warren

We opened the first ROCK STEADY BOXING studio in San Diego which focuses on improving the quality of life of Parkinson’s patients by improving their balance, flexibility, and strength through an intensive exercise program that is modeled from the training regiment that a boxer goes through.

We now have over 100 patients and offer 10 classes per week for our “fighters.” The results are often dramatic with some of our fighters having started when they were having to use walkers and after several months not only walking freely but significantly improving all their motor skills.

The ROCK STEADY BOXING program was founded in Indianapolis and now serves Parkinson’s patients in over 600 studios throughout the world.
