Obituary: Harold J Wilhelmsen ’50

Wilhelmsen, Harold J.
89, of Scottsdale, Arizona died on Friday, 29-Dec-2017. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Audrey (5 months short of 60th anniversary), daughter, Deb Hart, and brother Carl Wilhelmsen. He is survived by his sister Ruth Schoening, son-in-law Frank Korzeniowski, son John Wilhelmsen (Lisa) and daughter Lin Milius (Craig), four grandchildren, Jen Milius (John Eisemann), Michael, Karl and Paul Milius and a very special sister-in-law Dell Parsons. Harold was born in Kansas City, MO to Karl and Cora (Reynolds) Wilhelmsen and grew up in Racine, WI. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, graduating in 1950. After serving in the US Army (1950-52) attained his CPA license. He held many different positions over his 37 years with S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc., retiring in 1990 as Vice President- Controller, International. Music was an avocation playing French horn with a number of different orchestras and bands including the Racine Symphony Orchestra and UW Concert and Marching bands. Served as President of Racine Symphony in the late 1950’s. The Wilhelmsen family lived in Australia (1970-72). Harold and Audrey moved to Scottsdale AZ in 1990. He was active in his church, Christ the Lord Lutheran Church serving as Treasurer for over 21 years. Joined Pinnacle Peak Country Club in 1984 and served on the BOD from 1993-96, and as President in 1996. Harold was an avid golfer and squash player and continued his love of reading and music in retirement.
