John E. Tanner, Jr. honored by scientific society

Dr. John Tanner has been awarded honorary membership in the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine. This is in recognition of his part in the development of pulsed magnetic field gradient NMR technology and the demonstration its use measuring diffusion restricted by barriers of colloidal dimensions. This was a part of his PhD thesis, 1966, under the late Edward O. Stejskal, then assistant professor of chemistry at the University of Wisconsin.
