Sheila Godreau is Ceridian HCM’s 2019 Working Mother of the Year

Sheila Godreau (MBA 1994) has a lot of reasons to celebrate. She was named Ceridian HCM’s 2019 Working Mother of the Year and received her award during Working Mother’s 100 Best Companies Gala Awards Dinner in New York City last October. Ceridian made the Top 100 Best Companies for Working Mother’s list for the second year in a row. Sheila recently celebrated her 16th work anniversary at Ceridian, where she currently works as Director of Strategic Risk Initiatives.

One of her passions is serving the community she works and lives in, something she can do while serving as chair of the St. Petersburg, FL chapter of Ceridian Cares (www.ceridiancares.com), Ceridian’s employee driven charity focused on helping individuals and families in need. This is her second year as chapter chair. This year she also co-chaired the US employee giving campaign, the main source of grant funds for Ceridian Cares. Sheila also works with various ministries at Lakewood Ranch’s Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church. She works with the Peer Ministry, a group of teenagers that focuses on volunteering and community service. The group spent time over the summer doing mission work in Rutledge, TN. She is an Eucharistic minister and she also leads the Welcome Committee, which is in charge of welcoming new parishioners.

On a more personal note, Sheila recently celebrated her 3rd year of being in complete remission from metastatic breast cancer. Adding joy to her life are her husband of 23 years, Juan Alector, as well as her children, Ozzie (20) and Melanie (17).
