Remembering Lucy Ann Taylor Tenuta
- Oct. 27, 2021
Lucy Ann (Taylor) Tenuta, class of 1948, passed away on September 29, 2021. She met Fred Tenuta ’48 while doing her student teaching, and they married in 1953 after he completed Fulbright Scholar studies in Italy. Fred passed in 1993. They lived in Kenosha and Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. She was proud to have gone to the University of Wisconsin and taught her children, Fred Taylor Tenuta x’79 and Jean Louise Tenuta (a Wisconsin Alumni Association member), all about the traditions, particularly football Saturday. Fred passed in 2012; however, Jean kept up the practice of calling Mom from Camp Randall and the Kohl Center at halftime, so she could hear “Varsity.” Her family will continue to sing “Varsity” in her memory until they can no longer attend games.
