Professor at Stanford since 2004, Professor at Washington University in St Louis for 24 years: Gerald Popelka
His original faculty appointment at Stanford was in Otolaryngology where he was Chief of Audiology and concentrated on creating new diagnostic procedures an various types of remediation for hearing loss. His faculty appointment was transferred to Neurosurgery last May because he now conducts research on tinnitus, or “ringing in the ears”, that is actually a neurologic condition rather than a hearing problem.
