Madison Reunion in national spotlight: John Bordsen

Jun. 20, 2018
Category: Recognition

When travel journalist John Bordsen (1975, JBA) caught wind of the Madison Reunion event, a remembrance of the turbulent 1960s years on campus, held June 14-16 at the Memorial Union and other Madison locations, he knew it had national appeal.
A freelance writer in North Carolina, formerly the travel editor of The Charlotte Observer for decades, Bordsen pitched the advancer to his outlets and placed it with USA Today. Print and online versions were published May 18 as a lead travel story and republished nationally.
The article — https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/destinations/2018/05/18/madison-reunion-1960-s-wisconsin-alum/623068002/ — included quotes by the Madison Reunion organizer, musician Ben Sidran (1967, BA), and two event speakers who are noted journalists and authors: David Maraniss (2014, honorary degree) and Peter Greenberg of CBS News (1972, BA).
