Retired UW Physicist and Engineer Makes Whiskey: Derrick C. Mancini

Oct. 23, 2018
Category: Career

Derrick C. Mancini, MS in Materials Science (’83) and MS Physics (’85), wasn’t sure what would follow after retiring from his 20 year career as a physicist at Argonne National Laboratory. 5 years later, he is releasing his whiskeys for distribution in Wisconsin, after having started Quincy Street Distillery a few years ago in Riverside, Illinois, where he has resided for the past 23 years. Derrick is excited that he can now share his post-retirement passion for making whiskey with his fellow alumni and friends that he sees during his occasional visits back to Madison, WI.
