State History Award from Historical Society of Michigan: Ann Dallman

My Middle Grade novel, “Cady and the Bear Necklace,” has received several major awards this fall.
Included are: Midwest Book Award (Young Adult category). The book was also a Silver Finalist in the Next Generation Indie Book Awards and a Michigan State History Award (Books: Children & Youth Category). On Sept. 25, the book was recognized with a New Mexico-Arizona Book Award 2020 (Multicultural category). Dallman was also recently awarded a Member for Members Scholarship from the Cady and the Bear Necklace, by Ann Dallman of Menominee, is the winner of a 2020 Midwest Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators/MI Chapter. Readers’ Favorite has given the book a Five-Star Review and it is included in the Top Ten of the U.P. Notable Books List.
Christine DeSmet, UW-Madison Division of Continuing Studies, provided invaluable help and guidance.
I have previously received scholarships to study writing at the Split Rock Arts Institute/Univ. of MN and to Highlights Foundation sessions in Honesdale, PA as well as writer’s residencies at Wild Acres Retreat Center, NC.
