Your host, Mary Louise Roberts is an historian of France who has lived and worked in Paris. She knows the city well and loves teaching it in a three-dimensional format. At UW, she holds two chairs: the WARF Distinguished Lucie Aubrac Professor and the Plaenert-Bascom Chair of History. She is the author of several books about France, most recently What Soldiers Do: Sex and the American GI in World War II (2013), and Dday Through French Eyes (2014). She is an avid teacher and researcher of the Second World War, and is particularly interested in relations between American G.I.s and French women.
