William Shernoff was one of five alumni who were honored with a 2012 Distinguished Alumni Award. The highest honor bestowed by the Wisconsin Alumni Association, the award recognizes UW-Madison graduates for professional achievements, contributions to society and support of the university.

Shernoff accepted his award in September 2012, when he returned to the University of Wisconsin for a number of Law School events.
