Awards and Graduation Need Your Support
The UW School of Veterinary Medicine’s awards and graduation celebrations demonstrate to our new graduates how much we appreciate and support them. However, in view of the expense of these events, we rely on faculty and staff, private donors and industry to help us defray event costs. We encourage you to make a gift in support of these important celebrations; donors will be listed in event programs. For more information on giving options, contact Kristi Thorson in the UW School of Veterinary Medicine’s Office for Advancement at 608-265-9692.
Teaching Herd Newsletter Available OnlineThe most recent issue of the Dr. Allenstein Dairy Teaching Herd Newsletter is now available for online access. This edition remembers Scarlet, an unforgettable cow. State Budget UpdateNo doubt you've read about significant proposed changes to the University of Wisconsin–Madison in the governor's budget. The proposal to restructure the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a public authority separate from UW System has raised numerous questions from faculty, staff and students. In response, the campus created its own website dedicated to state budget concerns — budget.wisc.edu. This site contains a wealth of information, from FAQs to official statements and the latest news on matters regarding the budget process and issues related to the New Badger Partnership. (The New Badger Partnership is Chancellor Biddy Martin's request for a more flexible business model.) This web page is often updated several times a day with helpful information and new developments. The site will continue to be updated as the bill works its way through the legislature, where it likely be modified to some degree. Of course, please contact us directly if you have questions or concerns not addressed by this web page.
