MADISON, Wis. — December graduates can prepare to “move on” by attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Countdown to Commencement. This one-stop-shop opportunity will take place in Tripp Commons, Memorial Union on Tuesday, Nov. 11.
The all-day event, which takes place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., is sponsored by the Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA), the University Book Store, the Wisconsin Union and UW-Madison. No appointments are necessary.
Countdown to Commencement allows students to get answers about the Dec. 21 ceremony, check graduation eligibility, reserve caps and gowns, and order class rings and graduation announcements. Staff will also be on hand to explain the benefits of joining the Wisconsin Alumni Association, such as discounts on Kaplan Test Prep courses and access to UW library resources.
Students can also learn about access to WAA’s career resources and free uwalumni.com e-mail accounts, and speak to representatives about WAA’s short-term health insurance. At the event, students can also sign up for the Wisconsin Union’s life membership program and support their Senior Class Gift through the UW Foundation.
Fall graduates who attend Countdown to Commencement may also enter a drawing to win prize packages such as life memberships to WAA. For more details, visit
