This September, alumni and friends will welcome Biddy Martin PhD'85 as the next chancellor at UW-Madison. Martin is a proud UW alumna and member of the Wisconsin Alumni Association.
"I am honored by the Board of Regents' confirmation of my appointment and thrilled to have this opportunity to return to a place where I have such significant academic and emotional connections," Martin said in a
statement accepting the appointment. "UW-Madison is a world-class research university that prepares generation after generation of students to succeed in their chosen fields and contribute to the betterment of the world around them."
WAA President and CEO Paula Bonner MS'78 says Dr. Martin's appointment is the right choice for the university.
"As she prepares to begin her new role this fall, we look forward to introducing her to alumni who are making a difference around the globe,"
Bonner says. "We hope UW graduates everywhere will join us in welcoming her to campus, and we invite all alumni to remain engaged in the promising future direction of our alma mater."

Badger Bullies," Cornell Daily Sun, June 18.
"Our provost is a leader in the field of academia, and she has proven time and again her capacity to lead a university in the right direction. As Martin takes the reigns at her alma mater, we can be certain that she will bring with her the persistence and determination that she used to make her mark on Cornell."
