My husband and I met in 2004 while working together for University Housing Desk Staff. He worked at Ogg and I at Holt Commons when, a couple weeks into the spring semester, he picked up a shift to work after me. I have to admit--it wasn't love at first sight, but our friendship grew and, today, we're happily married. Bucky came to help celebrate at our reception--the current picture on the homepage is from our wedding July 5! Megan (Abel) Rubocki North Carolina

My boyfriend and I met at College Library when I went for some GUTS tutoring in chemistry. I recognized Jeremy from some of the weekly UWMBDA dances I would go to. As we got to know each other, it turned out we were already in several pre-med clubs together. Our first date was to go see an opera at Music Hall, and afterward he took me out for some hot chocolate and rented a movie. I still remember that night so clear in my mind, and many others since then. He is my best friend, and true love. Happy Valentine's Day honey. Samantha Hoang '07

My husband and I met at a badger football game! It was Sept 14 2002 and the badgers were playing Northern Illinois University. My friend and I didn't know we were supposed to turn our student vouchers in ahead of time so we just went to the game and got tickets at the door. We ended up in the top of section M. My future husband had attended NIU and was currently living with his parents in Wautoma, Wi. His 4 friends that were supposed to go to the game with him all ditched him but he wanted to go so he drove to Madison by himself, for the first time and the first time ever going to a Badger game. He walked into the stadium at the same time we did and he ended up with the seat right next to me. After some taunting because he was an NIU fan in the student section and after he was cheering quite loudly for NIU, he asked me if he was annoying me. And I said, yes, you are! That led to some teasing back and forth and pizza after the game. Phone numbers were exchanged and a Brewer game was our first date. We got married last year, the reception was in the union, and Bucky made an appearance as a guest of honor! :-)
