Take a look at Dante’s journey through Purgatory — with brief stops in Inferno and Paradise. Beginning September 8, this six-session course on The Divine Comedy’s highly innovative second canticle offers:
Perspectives
In each session, you’ll read a few cantos and discuss the Comedy’s broad themes, in addition to Dante’s textual strategies and the value of interdisciplinary approaches to the poem.
Connections
Together with alumni and friends, you’ll examine the text from a number of perspectives: literary, historical, political, artistic, scientific, philosophical and theological.

You can tap in to this rich UW resource with Professor Emeritus Christopher Kleinhenz, who for 40 years has led students through The Divine Comedy, showing them why the medieval text matters.
Register online now (choose Wisconsin Alumni Lifelong Learning 2008-2009).Cost is $105 per person or $95 per WAA or UW OLLI member, and includes a copy of Purgatorio from The Divine Comedy. The registration deadline is Sept. 4, 2008.
