Distinguished Alumni Awards

The Distinguished Alumni Awards are the highest honor bestowed by the Wisconsin Alumni Association. Since 1936, WAA has been presenting the awards to the most prestigious graduates of UW-Madison for their professional achievements, contributions to society and support of the university.

The 2009 recipients were honored on April 24, 2009 at a ceremony at the Wisconsin Union Theater in Memorial Union. The honorees were:

• Jean Wilkowski MA'44
• Peter '65 and Susan '66 Straub
• Peter Weil '70, JD'74
• Walt Bogdanich '75
